Description:
Quality Engineer required for long-established, market leading manufacturing facility on the outskirts of Ipswich. The successful candidate will be responsible for quality aspects of the manufacturing process. This includes ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 through maintenance of test methods and quality procedures, RCI (Root Cause Investigation) and evaluating quality defects. The Quality Engineer role will involve practical analytical work, including providing day-to-day support to the QA Tester, testing and analysing raw materials and finished product, and calibration of test equipment. The Quality Engineer collaborates with other key technical roles, such as the Process Scientist and the Plant Chemist to work on improvement projects and solving plant issues.
Main duties will include: -
* Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standard
* Maintain and update test methods/quality procedures for all areas, including printer instructions
* Analytical testing of incoming raw materials
* Optical density and colour data analysis
* Evaluation of print defects
* Providing assistance and guidance with pass/fail decisions, material sorting and further testing
* Carry out RCI for production non-compliances
* Calibration and basic maintenance of test equipment
* Lead ITW Toolbox projects
* Support Process Scientist and Plant Chemist in solving plant issues, complaints and in testing product and process changes
* Provide cover for the QA Tester
Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications/skills: -
* Professional experience in printing/coating manufacture
* Experience with a QMS (Quality Management System) compliant to ISO 9001
* Ideally have some technical training in chemistry or printing
* Good knowledge of MS Office
* Structured way of working
* Problem-solving competence and good analytical skills
* Keen attention to detail and ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language
* High degree of willingness to learn, motivation, ability to work in a team and reliability
Hours of work 8.30am – 4.45pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am - 3.45pm Friday, (36 hours per week). Excellent Salary and benefits package
