Quality Engineer

Permanent Role

Location: Coventry

Salary: £35,000 to £38,000 per annum DOE plus overtime and annual bonus

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 16:30 & Friday 07:30 to 11:30

Empowered Personnel is currently recruiting a Quality Engineer. This role of a Quality Engineer is working with a client who is dedicated to delivering quality engineered components that exceeds their high end customers’ expectations. As a Quality Engineer, your mission is pivotal: develop and ensure the application of a robust control system to uphold the highest standards of quality for our products. This is a hand on role mainly within inspection where flexibility is needed and the desire to constantly improve

The Role Of A Quality Engineer:

Joining our dedicated client as a Quality Engineer you'll play a key role in ensuring:

Quality process controls adhere to standards, Customer Specific Requirements, feasibility analyses, and PFMEA results.

Inspection under direct quality staff responsibility is conducted at all production stages, ensuring alignment with design specifications.

Quality process controls are meticulously engineered and maintained, fostering a safe, clean, and organized environment following the 5S Approach.

This hands-on position demands flexibility and a continuous improvement mindset, with strong communication skills to foster cross-functional relationships, effectively communicating key issues to all stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications / Competences:

HNC/HND with a focus on mechanical and quality qualifications.

Experience in quality control within the automotive field, particularly with machined components.

Proficiency in CMM programming using QCT software, both online and offline.

Expertise in GD&T

Responsibilities and Duties:

Interpretation of mechanical drawings (ISO Standard) and knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Creating CMM Programmes on complicated mechanical components
Utilisation of basic measuring equipment and standard gauging.
Advanced knowledge of and essential IT skills.
Calibration of measuring equipment and gauges.
Proficiency in automatic CMM basic program editing and probe qualification.
Providing Quality Assurance support on automotive quality tools and best practices.
CMM full programming and MSA studies
Advanced knowledge of and basic knowledge of TS16949 quality systems.
Proficiency in SPC and managing Automotive quality tools and best practices.
