About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join a major infrastructure project. This position is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented quality professional who is passionate about delivering projects right first time and driving a culture of excellence.
Working closely with project teams, designers, subcontractors, and stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring quality standards, client requirements, and project procedures are consistently achieved throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Support the implementation and maintenance of project Quality Management Systems.
Assist in the development and management of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
Conduct internal audits and support supply chain and design partner audits.
Review subcontractor quality documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements.
Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and support corrective action close-out.
Promote a proactive quality culture and defect-free approach across all project activities.
Support project handover documentation and quality reviews.
Deliver quality awareness training and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure quality activities align with sustainability and carbon reduction objectives.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will have:
Experience in a Quality Engineer, Quality Coordinator, or Quality Assurance role.
Previous exposure to civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, rail, construction, or similar engineering sectors.
Strong understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Experience producing and reviewing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
Knowledge of auditing processes and quality assurance practices.
Experience managing NCRs and driving corrective actions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Full UK working rights- This role does not offer sponsorship
HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
NCR Management
Root Cause Analysis
Document Control and Quality Records ManagementDesirable
CQI Quality Practitioner (PCQI)
CQI Diploma in Quality Management
IRCA Internal or Lead Auditor Certification
ISO 14001 Auditor Training
ISO 45001 Auditor Training
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or above)
Knowledge of BIM and digital construction processes.
