A Quality Controller is an advanced-level technical/operational role in the Quality Control discipline of the Quality role family. This role undertakes complex technical or operating activities within this discipline. Requires specialised skills and training (at NVQ / SVQ level 3 or greater) and will work under a limited degree of supervision from a Front Line Manager to complete non-routine tasks and activities. May act as an informal resource for junior colleagues.
Description
The Quality Role Family includes roles focused on managing the quality of products, services, and processes within the client. This role family includes roles such as Quality Managers, Quality Controllers and Quality Practitioners, among others.
These roles are responsible for ensuring that products, services, and processes meet or exceed quality standards and customer expectations. They collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure that quality is integrated into all aspects of the client’s activities. They are also be responsible for conducting quality audits, developing and implementing quality control procedures, analysing data to identify areas for improvement, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
The Quality Role Family plays a critical role in ensuring that an organisation delivers high-quality products and services to its customers. By managing quality, analysing data, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives, individuals in these roles help to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction, which contributes to the success of the client.
Technical / Operations
Description
Performs technical tasks or skilled work, that is primarily achieved by an individual or through operational teams with emphasis on technical skill and know-how rather than specialist knowledge or managing people and resources.
Requires vocational training or the equivalent experience and may require external certification, but does not typically require a university degree.
Progression reflects the increasing depth/breadth of technical skills and expertise.
