A fantastic opportunity has arisen to have the chance of joining a well-established UK engineering business located in Reading as an experienced Quality Engineer.

The Opportunity
Our client is looking for a Quality Engineer to work within their existing team. The focus of this role will be predominantly completing audits and project documentation, as well as assisting with all quality matters relating to the project works as required.
 
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
 
•    Prepare, implement and maintain a compliant Audit schedule in line with the project quality plan
•    Create Lifetime Quality Records and Quality documentation in accordance with project specifications
•    Assist with Quality assurance at all stages of the project.
•    Provide Quality guidance and relevant information to all project teams as required
•    Present quality inductions to educate new starters on project quality requirements
•    Ensure conformance to the project quality plan and ISO 9001 as well as company procedures and legislative/ regulatory requirements.
•    Ensure team compliance with process and procedure documentation creation.
•    Assist with quality reporting; to include progress of inspections, acceptance and auditing, including details of NCR’s raised, identified NCN’s, concession requests, technical queries, quality plan/ITP submissions and procedures
•    Record and investigate NCRs, ensuring timely resolution and communication of corrective actions/lessons learnt 
•    Conduct supply chain audits and visits and act as focal point for quality
•    Carry out site inspections, liaising with the client and project team on inspection issues
•    Maintain quality processes, updating documentation as required and incorporating into the CDM health and Safety file
•    Communicate with delivery team and supply chain to ensure full understanding of quality assurance requirements
•    Training, coaching and support of Supply Chain team
•    Ability to create and work to KPIs in a performance driven environment

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

 Internal Auditor qualified (AS9100)
•    Qualification in Quality/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering
•    Experience of Quality grading for QC Grade 1 works
•    Strong IT skills
•    Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
•    Experience of working on NEC Contracts
•    You must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary clearance which may take some time
