Description:

We are looking for an experienced and driven Quality Engineer to join a successful business operating within a highly regulated industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional with a strong mechanical background who enjoys getting to the root of problems, working closely with engineering and production teams, and driving meaningful improvements across products and processes.

You will play a key role in ensuring products consistently meet demanding quality standards, supporting investigations into non-conformances and helping to maintain a robust culture of quality and continuous improvement.

As Quality Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

*

Managing and supporting non-conformance investigations, gathering relevant information such as inspection reports, test results, customer complaints and assembly records.

*

Analysing quality data to identify trends, recurring issues and potential systemic problems.

*

Working closely with Production, Engineering and Operations teams to investigate and resolve product quality issues.

*

Conducting thorough root cause analysis and supporting the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.

*

Carrying out inspections and testing of mechanical components and finished products to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.

*

Performing regular calibration and verification of measuring equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.

*

Supporting continuous improvement initiatives designed to reduce non-conformances, improve processes and strengthen overall product quality.

*

Producing clear and accurate quality documentation, investigation reports and recommendations.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

*

Previous experience as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing environment, with a strong mechanical bias.

*

The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

*

A good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

*

Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

*

Practical experience using structured problem-solving tools such as 8D, CAPA and 5 Why.

*

Experience carrying out root cause investigations and developing effective corrective and preventative action plans.

*

A strong understanding of quality management systems, with knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 considered advantageous.

*

Experience using Aberlink CMMs or similar coordinate measuring equipment would be beneficial.

*

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce clear, concise and accurate quality documentation.

*

A proactive, continuous improvement mindset with a genuine desire to prevent recurring quality issues
