Quality Engineer

Description:

Westwood Recruitment are currently looking for a Quality Engineer for our client based in Croydon on a permanent basis.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Support the Quality Manager and act as deputy in their absence, including hosting third-party and customer audits and reviews.

* Assist in maintaining the Company's Quality Management System and ensure compliance with national and international standards.

* Conduct internal audits as scheduled and promptly produce reports.

* Follow up with internal departments on NCRs raised from external/internal sources, supporting departments with RCA tools.

* Conduct supplier assessments, audits, and appraisals as needed.

* Maintain the calibration system and manage the external calibration service provider.

* Support the Mechanical Inspector in inspecting machined and/or fabricated parts.

* Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

* Collaborate with engineering on controlled test specifications/procedures.

* Manage the workshop audit schedule, communicate findings to managers, and record them in the NCR database.

Role Requirements

* Degree/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

* Technical background with knowledge of engineering/Railway Group standards.

* Extensive experience with quality systems in a safety-critical engineering environment.

* ISO9001:2015 Internal or Lead Auditor certification.

* Proficiency in Quality Assurance techniques and the ability to provide recommendations to management.

* Familiarity with both metric and imperial units of measure.

* Proficiency with measurement tools such as Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gauges, and CMMs (Inspect 3D).

Package Details

* 36.5 hour workweek permanent contract

* £36,000 – £42,000 (dependent on experience & qualifications)

* Annual Bonus (pro-rata based on the year of joining)
