The Opportunity We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to join a major nuclear project in Cumbria. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all engineering, construction, and operational activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting project delivery, maintaining regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement across all phases of the project lifecycle.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems aligned with nuclear industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Conduct inspections, audits, and surveillance activities to verify compliance with project specifications and codes of practice.
Support the resolution of quality-related issues, including non-conformances and corrective/preventive actions.
Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project management teams to embed quality assurance into daily operations.
Prepare and maintain quality documentation, reports, and records for internal and external stakeholders.
Provide training and guidance to project teams on quality standards, processes, and best practices.
Liaise with regulatory bodies, suppliers, and contractors to ensure adherence to contractual and statutory obligations.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety outcomes.You will have the following qualifications & experience
Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
Proven experience in quality engineering within highly regulated industries (nuclear, energy, or infrastructure preferred).It’s great if you also have the following
Strong knowledge of ISO standards, quality assurance methodologies, and nuclear regulatory frameworks.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
