Our client, a precision engineering firm based in Rochester, are growing and are looking to add a proactive, analytical, detail-oriented Quality Engineer to their Quality team.
As a Quality Engineer you will work closely with the Quality Manager, and existing Quality Engineer, to ensure their products, processes, and systems consistently meet or exceed established quality, safety, and reliability standards. Your expertise will play a vital role in determining the standards the products are tested against, and collaborating with production teams, to establish root causes and ensure Corrective/Preventive actions are generated and documented when issues arise.
Main responsibilities include:
* Supplier approval status
* CAPA (RCCA) system
* Standards and specifications management
* APQP
* Documentation control
* First article inspection
* Concession management
* Supporting customer visits
* Supporting supplier visits
* Supporting manufacturing team units
* Attending daily production meeting for problem resolution
* New product introduction support
* PPAP
* Running internal audits
* Running customer audits
* Risk register updating
* MRP – generating and maintaining manufacturing routes
* Contract review
* Configuration control
* Record keeping
* Systems development
Wider responsibilities will be shared, and you will have the opportunity to be involved in new product introduction, system development, customer/supplier visits and contract reviews.
The ideal Quality Engineer will have experience in a similar role within a manufacturing/production environment, engineering is desirable but not essential. You will also have:
* Experience within AS9100 ideal
* Experience with Specialist process accreditations (NADCAP).
* Excellent communications skills and the ability to connect with stakeholders at all levels
* Excellent IT skills. Required for product data management, analysis, and reporting. Microsoft Office versed, Word/PowerPoint/Excel proficient
* A working knowledge of Quality Improvement Tools and Problem-Solving Tools/Techniques
* Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
Hours of work
This is a site-based role, Monday-Friday 8.15-17.00 and Friday 8.3 Hours a week)
A driving licence/vehicle are desirable as supplier/customer visits fall within the scope of the role.
