We are delighted to be supporting a global Automotive manufacturer in their search for a new Quality Engineer. This role will be a fixed-term (9-month) position within their factory in Peterlee. Working within a hugely successful Quality Department and being involved in exciting projects.
The company have cemented themselves as a true giant in the Northeast and looking to add an experienced head to continue and develop this progress.
Shift Times: Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm and Friday 8:00am – 3:30pm
Job Description:
Support the management of multiple new product Introductions and cost down driven projects
Responsibility for integration and maintenance of customer-specific and external assessment body-specific requirements
Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operational Procurement and Supplier Quality Assurance on quality issues.
Implement corrective and preventive action plans and execute accordingly
Individual responsibility for 3-5 specific new product introductions per year as directed by Dept Manager / Section Leader with given budget (Variable based upon project scope)
Responsible for assurance of new product upon introduction and verifying the cascade of internal and customer-specific requirements into the supplier quality system (APQP).
Work flexibly with the QA, SQA & SD and other plant teams to deliver effective solutions demonstrating a high level of competence
Organises and conducts Kaizen events to undertake improved transactional and manufacturing opportunities, this increasing process efficiency, and driving throughput to an expected level.
Maintain current plant quality documentation and customer specific requirement to IATF 16949 requirements. Contiually develop and improve existing systems standards and practices
Manage internal and customer process change requests.
Skills and Requirements:
Qualification in AutoCAD
Auditing qualifications in IATF16949
Automotive Core Tools Certificate
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Good verbal, written & presentation skills – confident & articulate.
Computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office packages.
Valid UK Driving license & Passport.
AIAG APQP Core Tools trained.
Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings.
Good technical problem-solving ability utilising 8D, 5 why methodology
