Quality Engineer – Highways & Civils

The company
Our client is the civils and infrastructure division of a fast-growing Tier 1 contractor, delivering highways and infrastructure schemes across the UK. The division has built a strong reputation for delivery and is known for a collaborative, people-first culture and for investing in and promoting its own people.
From its Yorkshire base, the team delivers a steady pipeline of highways schemes for National Highways under long-term framework agreements. That gives it a secure, repeat workload across the region, rather than the stop-start pattern of one-off projects.
This is a chance to join an established civils team, with the backing of a Tier 1 business, at a time when the division is growing.
The role
A Quality Engineer to join the Yorkshire civils team, supporting highways schemes across Yorkshire, Humber and the North East. You'll work alongside an established QA Engineer, report into the Agent, and make sure every scheme is built right first time and fully signed off.
The role is office-based with site visits.
Key responsibilities
* Preparing, reviewing and managing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
* Reviewing RAMS for quality requirements
* Managing inspections, sign-offs and quality records through to handover
* Raising, tracking and closing out non-conformances
* Working with site teams, subcontractors and the client to keep quality standards high
* Compiling handover documentation and quality files
What we're looking for
* Quality or engineering experience on highways or civils schemes
* Understanding of ITPs, inspection regimes and quality documentation
* National Highways or framework experience, ideally including knowledge of the Specification for Highway Works (MCHW)
* Organised, detail-focused and confident working with site teams
