Key Responsibilities:

* To actively support the implementation, maintenance, performance and improvement of the Quality Management System by applying appropriate quality tools and techniques. Work independently and as a team member in conducting Quality Engineering activities.

* Work in line with Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies, Procedures and Instructions.

* Identify performance trends and potential and actual non-conformances in products and processes through data gathering, analysis, monitoring and auditing.

* Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.

* Decision making: To stop production, drive containment action and take corrective or preventive action. To ensure effective and timely defect management.

* Propose and implement robust and cost-effective solutions and improvements.

* Carry out audits, inspections, measurements and tests in a timely and accurate manner.

* Clear, concise, accurate and data driven reporting of results, trends actions and progress.

* Develop effective relationships with other team members and departments, suppliers and customer personnel as appropriate to facilitate product and service quality.

* Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools for quality engineering.

* Provide training support and to overcome barriers to quality improvement.

* Customer performance monitoring, trend analysis & reporting

* Process Control.

* Gauging methods development for process.

* Process data, trends and issues.

* Support process control training for shop floor.

* APQP - Support NPI projects.

* Customer PMP.

* Gather shop floor SPC and Dim Check Sheet data, trend and give quick feedback

* Document control

* Liaise with and support other functions with document management (training)

* Conduct internal process and systems audits

* Assist 2nd and 3rd party external audits and associated actions

* Feedback to production on issues from internal and customer etc

* Scrap reduction project / BOS

* Liaison with Production to resolve issues

Essential Experience, Qualification & Knowledge Required:

* A minimum of a BTEC / HNC / HND or Degree in Engineering or Science related discipline.

* A minimum of one to two years experience working within industry as a Quality Engineer / Technician within Manufacturing or Precision Engineering.

* Knowledge and experience of using six sigma quality tools such as 8D, 5Why’s FMEA, PPAP & SPC.

* Excellent communication skills coupled with strong attention to detail.
