Construction Quality Controller

We’re currently looking for an Asphalt & Construction Quality Controller to join the technical team of a well-established UK construction materials organisation.

This role would suit someone with practical experience in asphalt, aggregates or construction materials testing who enjoys a hands-on laboratory environment but is also comfortable supporting testing activities on site.

You’ll be involved in testing a variety of construction products, helping to ensure they consistently meet the required quality, safety and performance standards. The position also offers the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge within an established and supportive team.

Responsibilities:

*

Undertaking laboratory and site-based testing across asphalt and other construction materials.

*

Testing products including asphalt, aggregates, concrete, mortars and screeds.

*

Carrying out quality control and performance testing in line with relevant industry standards.

*

Working to applicable British and European testing standards, including UKAS requirements.

*

Recording, reviewing and maintaining accurate test data and results.

*

Assisting with investigations where materials or products do not meet the required specification.

*

Supporting the technical team with product development and continuous improvement activities.

*

Providing technical assistance during site-based testing when required.

*

Ensuring laboratory equipment and work areas are maintained to a high standard.

*

Following company procedures and maintaining excellent Health & Safety standards at all times.

Requirements:

*

Previous experience working as an Asphalt Technician, Materials Technician, Laboratory Technician or similar within the construction materials sector.

*

Hands-on knowledge of asphalt testing and quality control.

*

An understanding of construction materials and associated testing techniques.

*

Familiarity with relevant British and European standards.

*

Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate technical records.

*

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

*

Confident IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.

*

A full UK driving licence – essential.
