Job Title: Quality Control Supervisor

Location: Middleton

Hourly Rate: £16.00 per hour

Contract: On-going temporary



Must drive as this role works between 2 sites

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day quality activities within the distribution operation, ensuring products, processes, and service levels meet company and customer quality standards. The role supports operational teams in maintaining compliance, identifying quality issues, and driving continuous improvement across warehouse and distribution activities.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily quality control activities within the distribution centre.

Conduct quality inspections on inbound, stored, and outbound goods.

Monitor adherence to company quality procedures and operational standards.

Investigate quality issues, customer complaints, and product discrepancies.

Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.

Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, and documentation.

Assist with internal audits and compliance checks.

Ensure warehouse teams follow quality and process standards at all times.

Deliver quality-related training and coaching to operational colleagues.

Monitor performance against quality KPIs and provide regular reporting.

Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal departments regarding quality concerns.

Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing errors, damage, waste, and returns.

Escalate significant quality risks or compliance issues to management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Product defect and damage rates.

Customer complaint volumes.

Order accuracy levels.

Audit compliance scores.

Returns and rejection rates.

Corrective action completion rates.

Quality inspection completion rates.

Health & Safety and quality compliance adherence.

Skills and Experience

Experience in a quality, warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.

Good understanding of quality control processes and procedures.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Ability to investigate issues and identify root causes.

Effective communication and team leadership skills.

Experience supervising teams in a fast-paced operational environment.

Competent in Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems.

Ability to analyse data and produce basic performance reports.
