Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Redditch
Salary: Up to £37,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday – Thursday, 7:00am – 5:15pm

The Opportunity

We are recruiting a Quality Assurance Engineer to join an established manufacturing business based in Redditch. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on in a manufacturing environment, working closely with production teams to identify quality issues, investigate root causes and implement practical solutions.

This is a varied, shopfloor-focused role where you will play an important part in maintaining product quality, improving manufacturing processes and helping prevent defects from recurring. You will work alongside production and engineering colleagues to resolve problems efficiently, reduce waste and support continuous improvement across the business.

The role also offers opportunities to develop your technical knowledge and take on greater responsibility over time, including exposure to PPAP, quality documentation, customer requirements and wider quality engineering processes.

Key Responsibilities

*

Investigate quality issues on the shopfloor, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.

*

Work closely with production teams to resolve problems quickly and minimise downtime, waste and disruption.

*

Carry out root cause analysis and structured problem-solving to prevent recurring defects.

*

Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes.

*

Monitor product quality and ensure components meet required specifications and customer expectations.

*

Investigate non-conformances, identify trends and support corrective and preventative actions.

*

Collaborate with production, engineering and other departments to improve process consistency.

*

Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework and quality-related production delays.

*

Maintain accurate quality records and support relevant reporting and documentation.

*

Develop knowledge of quality tools and systems, including PPAP, and contribute to wider quality engineering activities.

About You

We are looking for someone with a practical, analytical and proactive approach to problem-solving who enjoys working directly with production teams to improve quality and manufacturing performance.

You may currently be working as a Quality Engineer, Quality Assurance Engineer, Quality Technician or in a similar manufacturing quality role, and be looking for an opportunity to develop your skills further.

The ideal candidate will have:

*

Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

*

An understanding of quality assurance, inspection or manufacturing quality processes.

*

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and identify root causes.

*

A hands-on approach and the confidence to work directly with shopfloor teams.

*

Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate across different departments.

*

A proactive attitude towards continuous improvement and preventing repeat issues.

*

Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate quality documentation.

Experience with PPAP, 8D, fishbone analysis or other root cause analysis tools would be advantageous. However, there is scope to develop these skills within the role.

What's on Offer?

*

Salary of up to £37,000 per annum.

*

A four-day working week, Monday to Thursday.

*

Working hours of 7:00am to 5:15pm.

*

A hands-on role where you can make a genuine impact on product quality and production performance.

*

Opportunities to learn, develop and broaden your quality engineering knowledge.

*

Exposure to PPAP and other quality processes.

*

The opportunity to take on additional responsibility as your skills and experience develop.

*

A varied position combining shopfloor problem-solving, quality improvement and collaboration with production teams.

If you have manufacturing quality experience and enjoy investigating problems, improving processes and working closely with production teams, we would like to hear from you.
