My well-established client based in Chester is looking for a Quality and Compliance Coordinator to join its friendly team. Previous experience in a compliance department – ideally within a law or financial firm – is essential for this role, along with excellent AML and Regulatory Compliance knowledge and preferably a compliance or risk qualification.
Key Duties
* Conduct Compliance file reviews on selected matters across all our fee earning teams.
* Arrange and collate the annual returns for the firms various Quality and Compliance accreditations including Lexcel, CQS, WIQs, and Lender Exchange.
* Liaise with and act as the initial point of contact for our PII Insurer/Broker dealing with PII claims and notifications
* Attend the monthly Compliance Board meeting and prepare minutes in an accurate and timely manner after each meeting.
* Ensure that all complaints, data breaches and undertakings are recorded on our internal reporting system.
* Work with other members of the team to learn and assist with the day-to-day Q&C operations such as file opening and archiving.
* Work closely with the Head of Quality and Compliance/MLRO to deal with daily AML and Compliance queries from the business and to assist with occasional Data Subject Access Requests, Police Production Orders and Regulator Requests.
* Prepare and assist with new starter Compliance inductions.
* Liaise with the SRA and Law Society and ensure that all regulatory records are maintained accurately.
Essential Skills
* Previous experience of working in a busy Compliance department (preferably within a Law or financial firm),
* A confident person with excellent communication skills
* The ability to work well as a member of a team but also independently where required with minimal supervision.
* Organisational skills are essential for this role.
* Can manage and prioritise your work
* High levels of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to act promptly on instructions received.
* An ability to communicate and build/maintain relationships with team members, fee earners and external stakeholders is essential.
