Quality and Clinical Governance Lead

We are working with a Private Care Provider who has a Neurological Service in the North East of the UK who are looking to appoint an Interim Quality & Clinical Governance Lead. This role will be for 6 months in the first instance and has an expectation it could extend.

They require someone for 3 days a week which will be onsite. The client is offering a competitive day rate for this.

You will be based within a service to support the Service Director and clinical staff to provide clinical expertise embedding clinical governance, clinical safety, quality assurance, audit and quality improvement.

Key responsibilities will include:

To support embedding national patient safety improvement programmes working closely with the Clinical Quality and Safety Manager and patient safety lead;
Provide support for quality improvement, facilitating learning and improvement based on thematic analysis and triangulation of learning from incidents, complaints, audits, service user feedback etc;
Support the service to meet quality standards and organisational policy for health and social care;
Lead responsibility for embedding the continual development of robust and safe clinical governance processes within a service;
To provide specialist advice to clinicians in relation to patient safety, medical devices, medical alerts and interpretation of national clinical recommendations;
To produce high quality written reports as required, interpreting complex information;
To work alongside the Service Director, Head of Clinical Services and other members of the Service Senior Management Team, contributing clinical expertise to discussions and supporting decisions.
The ideal candidate will have:

Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and educated to degree level or equivalent;
Evidence of continuous professional development in related field (patient safety, quality improvement);
Experience in clinical, quality assurance including clinical audit/risk and patient safety management process and practice;
Experience in speciality within a complex care setting.
