About the Role

Connex Education are currently recruiting experienced and enthusiastic Level 2 or 3 Qualified Teaching Assistants to work within a variety of welcoming primary schools across Somerset. We have flexible opportunities available on a day-to-day supply basis, alongside short-term and long-term placements starting from September 2026.

As a Level 2 / 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. You will help pupils access the curriculum, deliver targeted interventions, and contribute to a safe, engaging and inclusive classroom environment.

Your responsibilities may include:

Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom
Working with pupils individually and in small groups
Delivering intervention sessions in literacy and numeracy
Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
Supporting pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs
Promoting positive behaviour and pupil engagement
Helping to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment

We are looking for candidates who:

Hold a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
Have experience working within a UK primary school setting
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
Are confident supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
Have a good understanding of safeguarding and classroom expectations
Have knowledge of Phonics and Read Write Inc.
Hold a DBS on the update service or are willing to obtain one
