Experienced Social Worker – Child Protection & Cared for Children
Location: Huyton, Merseyside Rate: £31.15 per hour Umbrella Contract: Locum / Agency Hours: Full-time
We are recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join Children’s Services in Huyton, supporting children and families across Child Protection and Cared for Children services.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident practitioner who is passionate about safeguarding children, managing complex cases and achieving positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake complex child protection and safeguarding work.
* Complete assessments, interventions and care planning.
* Manage children subject to Child Protection Plans and PLO processes.
* Undertake care planning and statutory reviews for looked-after children and young people.
* Develop strong, purposeful relationships with children, families and carers.
* Assess and manage complex risk and make sound professional decisions.
* Work closely with partner agencies to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
* Support children and young people to understand their circumstances and achieve their aspirations.
* Contribute to service development and practice improvement.
* Share knowledge and expertise with less experienced colleagues.
Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
* Strong experience within Children's Social Care, Child Protection or Looked After Children.
* Experience managing complex safeguarding and risk.
* Strong assessment, analytical and decision-making skills.
* Experience of court work and/or PLO processes.
* Excellent communication and multi-agency working skills.
* Child-centred and relationship-focused approach.
* Ability to manage a complex caseload effectively.
