Josh of Aspire People is seeking a Qualified and Experienced Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join one of our using school in Kings Heath.

The school has a fantastic reputation and is seeking someone to work Part Time & Full Time Hours.

About the School:

This school is 'good' according to OfSted. An inclusive and holistic approach to education, the school is looking for an exceptional and qualified SENco who is passionate about supporting students with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND).
The curriculum is wide and interesting, enriched with visits and experiences. These include visits to local theatres, farms and museums. As a result, pupils are keen to learn and achieve well in most subject areas.
Pupils behave well in classrooms and around school. They focus on their learning and have good attitudes to school life. This starts with children in the early years, who listen well and show high levels of self-control. Pupils feel safe.
They know they have adults who will help them when they need it. SEN ratio's arent too high but their needs on EHCP's include: ASD, ADHD, SEMH & Moderate Learning Disabilities.

Responsibilities:

* Identify and assess students with SEND, collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
* Coordinate and oversee the implementation of support strategies, accommodations, and resources to ensure students' academic and social progress.
* Foster an inclusive learning environment by providing guidance and training to teachers and support staff on effective strategies for meeting the diverse needs of students with SEND.
* Collaborate with external professionals, such as educational psychologists, speech therapists, and social workers, to access additional support and services for students with SEND.
* Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with SEND, making necessary adjustments to support plans as required.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation related to students with SEND, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
* Act as a liaison between teachers, parents, and external agencies, promoting effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

* Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent, with additional qualifications in special education needs.
* Proven experience as a SENCO or in a similar role, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of SEND provision in an educational setting.
* In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in special education needs.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, teachers, and external professionals.
* Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
* Commitment to promoting inclusion and equality, with a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to the school's overall vision and ethos.
