QA Manager / NICEIC Principal Duty Holder
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 + package
We are currently recruiting for a QA Manager / NICEIC Principal Duty Holder to join an established building services organisation in Newcastle.
This is a key role within the business, responsible for managing quality assurance and compliance across projects and operations, while acting as the NICEIC Principal Duty Holder and providing technical oversight of electrical standards and compliance.
Working closely with the Operations Director and project teams, you will take ownership of the company's quality systems, internal audits, corrective actions and electrical governance, ensuring standards are maintained across the business.
The role
*
Lead and manage the company's quality assurance and compliance function.
*
Maintain and continually improve ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
*
Plan and deliver internal audits across projects and office functions.
*
Produce audit reports and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented and closed out.
*
Coordinate external certification, client and regulatory audits.
*
Act as NICEIC Principal Duty Holder, maintaining electrical compliance and supporting NICEIC accreditation and assessments.
*
Provide technical guidance relating to BS 7671, electrical standards and relevant legislation.
*
Ensure electrical personnel are appropriately qualified, competent and authorised for the work undertaken.
*
Review project documentation and provide assurance that required quality and compliance controls are in place.
*
Carry out site inspections, quality reviews and compliance audits.
*
Support the investigation of incidents, defects and non-conformances.
*
Identify recurring issues and implement practical improvements across projects and operations.
*
Work closely with project, commercial and operational teams to maintain quality standards.
*
Provide regular compliance and quality reporting to senior management.
*
Support the development and mentoring of apprentices and trainee engineers.
About you
*
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
*
Current 18th Edition / BS 7671 qualification.
*
Inspection & Testing qualification.
*
ECS Gold Card.
*
Experience working within a NICEIC-accredited organisation.
*
Experience and competence suitable for appointment as an NICEIC Principal Duty Holder.
*
SMSTS.
*
IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
*
ISO 9001 internal auditor qualification or strong practical audit experience.
*
Strong knowledge of electrical compliance, quality assurance and relevant legislation.
*
Experience managing audits, corrective actions and non-conformances.
*
Experience working with ISO management systems.
Desirable
*
HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
*
ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 experience or lead auditor qualifications.
*
Membership of IET, IOSH, CQI or another relevant professional body.
Working arrangements
The role will be based from the Newcastle office, with regular travel to project sites, regional offices, external assessments and training providers across the UK North region.
