Thorn Baker have the exciting opportunity to recruit for a QA Inspector / Test Technician for a client of ours in the NG16 area of Nottinghamshire. 

We are looking for an experienced QA Inspector / Test Technician to join our team within a busy Contract Electronics Manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused individual with strong inspection, testing, and fault-finding skills to play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards.

Working Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 5pm and Friday 8:30am - 2pm.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out quality inspection of electronic assemblies and finished products.
Perform functional testing of manufactured electronic products.
Diagnose and fault-find electronic assemblies to component level.
Support and maintain process control throughout the manufacturing process.
Inspect products in accordance with IPC-A-610 standards.
Investigate, report on, and repair customer returns where appropriate.
Participate in internal quality audits and support the maintenance of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
Work closely with production and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement and maintain high quality standards.
Skills & Experience Required:

Previous experience within a contract electronics manufacturing environment.
Good understanding of SMT (surface mount technology) manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of IPC-A-160 electronic assembly workmanship standards.
Hands-on experience of process control within an electronics manufacturing environment.
Experience of functional testing of electronic products.
Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills to component level.
Experience of ISO 9001 internal auditing.
Ability to analyse, report on, and repair returned products.
Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to quality.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
