Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced PWAY Maintenance Technician to join a major rail client based in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the permanent way infrastructure to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our rail services. While prior light rail experience is preferred, candidates with a background in Network Rail (NR) maintenance will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct routine inspections and maintenance activities on the permanent way infrastructure, including track, switches, crossings, and associated components.
Perform repairs and adjustments to track components as necessary, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Identify and address defects, faults, and hazards promptly to minimize service disruptions and ensure passenger safety.
Utilize specialized tools and equipment to carry out maintenance tasks efficiently and effectively.
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to coordinate maintenance activities and optimize workflow.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and materials used.
Adhere to relevant health and safety regulations and procedures at all times to promote a safe working environment.
Assist with emergency response and recovery efforts in the event of track incidents or operational disruptions.
Qualifications and Experience:

Previous experience in PWAY maintenance within the rail industry, preferably with exposure to light rail systems.
Knowledge of track maintenance techniques, materials, and equipment.
Familiarity with relevant safety standards and regulations, including those set by Network Rail.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed
