Lead Procurement Strategy in a Growing Business An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join a well-established and successful organisation based in Suffolk.

This is a key leadership role within the supply chain function, responsible for overseeing purchasing operations, managing supplier relationships, driving continuous improvement and ensuring effective stock management across the business. Working closely with multiple departments, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining product availability, improving efficiencies and supporting wider business objectives.

This position would suit a proactive procurement professional who enjoys leading teams, developing processes and working within a fast-paced commercial environment.

The Role As Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing the purchasing team while ensuring procurement activities are aligned with operational and strategic business goals.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing and developing a team of purchasing professionals
Creating a high-performing and collaborative team culture
Overseeing purchasing activities and supplier performance
Managing inventory levels and stock planning to meet business requirements
Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
Monitoring supplier lead times, service levels and cost performance
Supporting import and logistics-related activities where required
Analysing purchasing and inventory data to support decision making
Identifying and implementing process improvements across procurement operations
Working closely with operations, logistics, sales and finance teams
Producing reports, KPIs and management information to support strategic planning
Contributing to wider business projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Supporting the ongoing development and optimisation of ERP and business systemsAbout You We are looking for a confident and commercially minded leader with strong purchasing experience and a proven ability to manage people and processes effectively.

You will ideally have:

Previous experience in a Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager or Supply Chain Manager role
Strong people management and leadership skills
Experience managing supplier relationships and procurement strategies
Inventory management and stock control experience
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
Confidence working with data, reporting and performance metrics
Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
