Description:

Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our leading South Yorkshire based client to recruit for a Purchasing Manager.

The role:

You will be responsible for managing both the current and future needs the Purchasing department.

You will be charged with:

Managing, supporting, and coaching of the team
Negotiation of all current and new purchasing contracts
Develop and maintain a supply base globally
Select new suppliers based on factors including cost and suitability/competence to supply
Re-tender of all current and new commodities
Align all material management processes

Skills and Experience

Previous Purchasing experience at a senior level to include a solid understanding of Steel, Fabrications and Machined commodities
Previous experience in managing a team
Ability to travel globally should the need arise
An understanding of lean manufacturing
