Description:
SWRP are recruiting a Purchasing Co-ordinator to work for a leading global manufacturer based in Peterborough. The ideal candidate will have a background in purchasing, procurement or supply chain, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills. This is a full-time, permanent position with opportunities for growth and development within the company.
As Purchasing Co-Ordinator, you will manage the end-to-end sourcing, pricing and delivery of non-stock and ad hoc stock items, ensuring business requirements are met efficiently and cost-effectively. You will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, building strong relationships to secure favourable terms, monitor supply performance, and support the company's growth plans.
Key responsibilities:
* Manage the end-to-end purchasing process for non-stock and ad-hoc stock requirements.
* Source products and obtain competitive quotations to deliver best value.
* Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy throughout the process.
* Build strong supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, lead times and commercial terms.
* Monitor supplier performance to ensure products and services are delivered on time and to the required standard.
* Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier information.
* Provide updates to stakeholders on orders, deliveries and supplier performance.
* Resolve purchasing queries efficiently and professionally.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing function.
* Identify opportunities to improve processes, cost, quality and service.
The Individual:
* We are looking for a motivated and commercially aware individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building effective working relationships.
* Previous experience of purchasing or procurement and stock management, preferably within a product driven supply chain environment.
* Good Microsoft Office skills and experience using ERP or purchasing systems.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
* The ability to manage changing priorities and work proactively.
* A positive, customer-focused attitude with a collaborative approach.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
