Job Title: Purchasing Assistant
Salary: £25,000 a year
Hours: Part Time (flexible)
Location: Woolpit, Suffolk
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Purchasing Assistant at an equipment supplier, who will be part of the purchasing team, placing & chasing orders, making sure everything is in stock & up to date in business. The ideal candidate has a flexible approach, is organized, and has great attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Assist in procuring equipment and supplies, ensuring timely delivery.
Prepare and process purchase orders according to company policies.
Communicate with suppliers for product information, availability, and pricing.
Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and identify new ones.
Monitor supplier performance and report issues.
Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers.
Monitor market trends to anticipate price changes.
Handle administrative tasks like filing, data entry, and scheduling.
Process invoices and purchase requisitions.
Respond to inquiries about orders.
Track inventory levels and initiate orders as needed.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within an equipment supplier or similar industry.
Basic understanding of supply chain management and procurement processes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective supplier and internal interactions.
Excellent administrative skills for managing paperwork and documentation.
