Role:
Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Assistant will support the purchasing needs of Polypipe CGUs. Based at the Horncastle site, you will be working within a small Purchasing Team consisting of 3 people within the wider Supply Chain Department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Raising all manner of Purchase Orders
* IFS reports & Procedures via MRP
* Expediting orders & Transport requests
* Chasing overdue orders as well as dealing with shortage reports and actions arising from it.
* Assisting Sales with customer & Invoice queries
* Inter branch and intercompany orders
* OTIF actions
* Updating cost prices when required as well as managing PPE and workwear stocks
* Attending on-site and offsite supplier meetings
* Producing regular and adhoc reports as and when required
* Working alongside the Buyer on tender projects
* Any other reasonable duties as and when required
The Person:
* Ideally educated to A level, however, applicants must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above, including maths and English
* Graduate degree is desirable, but not essential
* 1 years’ work experience within a purchasing role
* Excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills
* Preferably previous experience of undertaking clerical or administrative tasks
* Good attention to detail and an organised approach to work
