SF Recruitment are exclusively working with an established and growing business in Nottingham to recruit a Purchasing Specialist to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys managing supplier relationships, coordinating orders and ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish.

You'll be joining a supportive and collaborative team, working closely with various departments to ensure orders are processed accurately, suppliers are kept informed and customer expectations are met.

As a Purchasing Specialist, you'll play an important role in managing purchasing activities, from raising purchase orders through to supplier confirmation and delivery coordination.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Raising, processing and managing purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
- Liaising with suppliers to confirm pricing, product availability and delivery timescales.
- Monitoring outstanding orders and proactively following up on delays or discrepancies.
- Ensuring product codes, quantities, pricing and delivery information are accurate.
- Identifying and resolving pricing discrepancies, invoice queries and order amendments.
- Working closely with internal sales, finance and order management teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment.
- Maintaining accurate purchasing records and updating internal systems.
- Managing supplier communications and building positive working relationships.
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and improvements to purchasing processes.
- Prioritising workloads to ensure customer orders and deadlines are met.
- Providing regular updates to internal stakeholders regarding order progress and delivery expectations.

We're looking for someone who has:

- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement administration, order processing, supply chain coordination or a similar role.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Confidence communicating with suppliers and internal departments.
- Good IT skills and experience working with order management or business systems.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and resolving discrepancies.
- Good commercial awareness, particularly around pricing, costs and delivery timescales.
- A positive, team-focused attitude and a willingness to take ownership of tasks.

Experience in a purchasing or supplier coordination environment would be advantageous, although candidates with strong order management and administration experience are also encouraged to apply.
