Purchasing Assistant

Would you like to join a growing and well-established business in the Sheffield region? We have a fantastic opportunity available working as a Purchasing Assistant for our reputable client.

DUTIES;
Manage Plant hires throughout the company.
Sign off and deal with invoice queries on a weekly basis, minimising disputes, and delays, maintaining relationships.
Issue enquiries and chase quotations for Material, plant, transport, services and subcontractors and Transport for the Purchasing and Logistics Manager.
Purchase, control, and record the issue of PPE for the company.
Weekly review of Site Consumables stock, and yard consumables stock, maintain stock levels as required.
Liaising with the Factory Manager and processing requisitions in line with the purchasing process.
Obtaining and comparison of supplier quotations to achieve best value.
Producing and issuing reports to the Purchasing and Logistics Controller and Estimating Department.
Maintain and develop relationships with existing and potential suppliers.

THE CANDIDATE:
Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
High attention to detail.
Written, telephone, and electronic communication skills.
Proven purchasing / supply chain background.
Be able to work under pressure and to timescales.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge and experience of an ERP and Document Management system would be an advantage but not essential; training would be given for the right candidate.
Construction industry knowledge would also be an advantage.
Cover for the Purchasing and Logistics Controller when on Annual Leave.
Attendance and punctuality, professionalism and record keeping.
