Description:

A successful manufacturing and engineering business requires a Purchasing Administrator to support its Indirect Procurement team. This opportunity would suit a strong administrator with good Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookup, formulas) skills who is looking to build a career within procurement, purchasing or supply chain management, gaining valuable experience in supplier management, sourcing activities and ERP systems.

Working closely with Buyers, suppliers and key internal stakeholders, the successful candidate will support the efficient delivery of purchasing activities while developing the skills and experience needed to progress within a procurement function.

Specific duties of the Purchasing Administrator include:

Convert Purchase Requisitions into Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring accurate coding and approval workflows are followed.
Issue Purchase Orders and liaise with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services.
Monitor supplier lead times, proactively managing delays, shortages and order-related issues through the ERP system.
Manage invoicing and payment queries, working closely with suppliers, finance teams and internal stakeholders.
Support the onboarding of new suppliers and maintain accurate procurement data within the ERP system.
Produce reports and analysis on supplier spend, procurement activity and overdue purchase orders.
Assist Buyers with sourcing activities, supplier quotations, tenders and RFQs.
Maintain procurement procedures and provide occasional support cover for Buyers as required.

Purchasing Administrator applicants should meet the following criteria:

Previous experience within an administrative, purchasing support, procurement administration or similar office-based role.
Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Lookup and formula functions.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience using ERP systems or business management software would be advantageous.
An interest in developing a career within procurement, purchasing or supply chain management
