We are recruiting for an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our Head Office Finance Team in Measham, Swadlincote. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the already high standards of this family-run business.

As a family-owned company, we are one of the biggest and most successful UK housebuilders, and we’re always looking for new talent. We need a Purchase Ledger Assistant with five good GCSEs (at least Grade C or equivalent, including Maths & English) and good written, computer and ‘people’ skills.

MAIN DUTIES:

* Receive invoices and delivery notes and scan into Purchase Ledger system.

* Index invoices and delivery notes.

* Liaise with regions regarding ‘quick’ payments.

* Liaise with suppliers re invoice queries, payments, credit notes and outstanding delivery notes.

KEY ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS:

* Excel, Word, Outlook

* Microsoft Navision/Dynamics accounting package

* Experience of the house-building/construction sector (beneficial)

* CIS

* Retentions

* VAT restrictions for new build housing

* Costing of invoices to plot level

* Good communication skills, written and spoken

* Strong organisational skills

* Self-starter

* Problem solving skills
