The Graduate
In order to be successful in this Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant role, you will be friendly and approachable with outstanding interpersonal skills that you can utilise to build strong bonds with pupils with complex needs. You will have some understanding of additional learning needs, obtained via the completion of a psychology degree, that you will use to facilitate the unique needs of each individual student. You will have confidence in your ability to adapt yourself and learning materials to the needs of each child, to ensure that the maximum potential of every student is fulfilled.
 
The Role
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be working alongside children with severe learning difficulties and aiding in the formulation of lesson plans and the creation of learning materials to ensure that each individual’s learning pathway is suitable for their needs. You will be working on a 1-2-1 basis with students with complex needs and following a framework that provides a structured and sequenced curriculum that enables every child to progress in all areas of development. It is essential that the successful candidate is motivated to understand what motivates each child to enable full engagement and maximise attainment.
