Description:

Are you a soon-to-be Graduate of Psychology who lives in the Coventry area? Are you looking for your first paid role in which you'll be able apply the knowledge and skills you have learned during your degree to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged young people? Perhaps you're considering a career in the SEN field and want to gain specific and additional skills and training?

Team Educate is on the lookout for 2024 Psychology Graduates to join the pioneering training programme offered by one of our partner schools in the Coventry border area. This school is a unique environment offering specialist provision underpinned by the principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis, for pupils aged 5-19 with ASC, and additional comorbid conditions such as Anxiety, Trauma, Speech Delay, amongst others.

In this role, direct experience is not necessary but applicants must be able to demonstrate a genuine desire to work in the field, along with a commitment to learning and progression. The successful candidate will receive a full bespoke in-house training package delivered by a range of innovative practitioners and SEN professionals where you will gain the necessary skills (such as Applied Behavioural Analysis, De-escalation Strategies, Makaton and the Picture Exchange Communication System) and experience to provide outstanding support to pupils with Autistic Spectrum Condition. You will undertake a two week theoretical induction, followed by a supported hands-on training approach within the classroom.

The successful applicant will also benefit from working in a non-traditional education environment with unrivalled facilities in a grand and historic setting, using pioneering educational methods to promote positive outcomes for their students. The school champions a pupil lead approach to education in which you will be encouraged to teach to pupil interest, and you will have the opportunity to develop creative and practical curriculums for those you support. On a daily basis, you will apply your training to support pupils on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis and, by the end of your training, you will be considered a Specialist SEN Tutor.

This is a Monday-Friday role, with working hours between either 08:00 - 16:00 or 08:30 - 16:30. Potential start dates for this role are May 28th 2024, or August 28th 2024. Please also note that, due to location, it would be preferable that you had a full driving licence and access to your own car
