Are you a chemist, biochemist, graduate, PhD or postdoctoral researcher looking to take the next step in your scientific career? This is an excellent opportunity to join the development team of a successful and expanding contract manufacturing organisation based in the Central Belt of Scotland.

What you'll be doing:

Planning and carrying out experiments, analysis and development work to support effective technology transfer and process development.
Recording, interpreting and presenting data in line with relevant regulatory and quality standards.
Communicating with clients and internal teams to support project delivery.
Following laboratory procedures and protocols to ensure work is completed safely, effectively and to a high-quality standard.
Troubleshooting scaled-up processes and supporting continuous improvement across development activities.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business while maintaining full compliance with regulatory, quality and health and safety requirements.

What we're looking for:

A degree or higher degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related scientific discipline.
Relevant industry, academic or research experience in a laboratory environment.
Knowledge of process development, protein structure and function would be beneficial.
Experience with protein purification techniques such as Tangential Flow Filtration, AKTA, chromatography or filtration would be advantageous.
Knowledge of protein analytical techniques, including UV/VIS and HPLC, would be useful.
Experience in drug development, pharmaceutical or biotech environments would be desirable, but is not essential.

This role would suit someone with strong scientific curiosity, a practical approach to problem solving and an interest in applying their chemistry or biochemistry knowledge within a growing manufacturing environment. Candidates from industry, PhD or postdoctoral backgrounds will all be considered where they can demonstrate relevant technical knowledge and a proactive approach.
