Property & Assets Graduate Programme (30 months)

Salary: £30,000

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract (30 months)

Hours: 37.5

Location: Flexible working with a mixture of home working and time spent in our Bradford Head Office. Travel across England to undertake property inspections will also be required.

Timescales: On-site Assessment Centres to take place in June 2024. Programme to commence September 2024.

Property & Assets Graduate Surveyor

In joining Anchor’s Graduate Programme you will become an integral part of the Property & Assets Directorate and gain opportunities to learn and experience the range of activities required for best managing our large and complex property portfolio. You will also develop the tools, knowledge, skills and ability you need to pass the APC and become a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Our Graduate Programme

You will join a structured training programme with the full support of a dedicated APC supervisor and counsellor. Successful candidates will gain experience across our national Property & Assets teams, and depending on your chosen RICS pathway, rotations could include:

Asset Evaluation – you will be responsible for collecting the property condition data and using this to formulate the prioritised asset investment plan.

Estate Management – you will be assisting with disposals, acquisitions, rates management, external rents payable and mortgages.

Health & Safety – you will help the organisation in the development and implementation of Anchor’s Health and Safety Management Plan. Assisting with all aspects of Building Safety, including delivery of all Fire Risk Assessments (FRA).

Portfolio Strategy – you will help shape the future plans for our properties, advising on whether each asset is a long-term investment or an opportunity for us to expand our offering and develop more homes.

Property Repairs & Investment – you will be responsible for projects delivering repairs, investment, and sustainability, ensuring our properties are safe and well-maintained meeting the needs of our residents.

You will also have the opportunity to undertake specific project work outside of your rotations which could vary from helping Anchor meet our future net zero carbon goals, to appraising development and regeneration opportunities.

What we need from you

We want your individualism, capability, and ambition to shine through. If you have a zest for learning and a willingness to invest time and energy, then we want to hear from you. You will also need to be a final year student on track to obtaining at least a 2.2 bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an RICS accredited general practice “Real Estate” focused undergraduate degree; subjects to include the likes of Estate Management, Real Estate Management, Real Estate and Property Management, Surveying, Commercial Property, Property Investment, Land & Surveying, Real Estate with (Law, Economics, Finance etc).

Additional Requirements

* A full UK Driving Licence

* Great communication skills and the ability to lead, influence and build strong working relationships with a diverse team of people

* Positive attitude, resilient, determined and a great listener and communicator

* Be analytical with plenty of common sense

* The ability to solve problems and keep your finger on the pulse of what is happening across our business
