Freelance Project Surveyor – Pharmaceutical Fit-Out & Construction

Location: Milton Keynes

Rate: £300 – £400 per day, depending on experience

Job Type: Temporary / Freelance Contract

Frontline Construction Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Freelance Project Surveyor for an established main contractor delivering pharmaceutical fit-out, refurbishment and construction projects across Milton Keynes and the M25 corridor.

The initial requirement will focus on a major pharmaceutical fit-out and redevelopment project in Milton Keynes, with several other projects and a strong pipeline of new schemes planned throughout 2027 and beyond.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially experienced Project Surveyor looking for an ongoing contract, with the potential for a longer-term arrangement for the right individual.

M&E (mechanical and electrical) experience would be a significant advantage, particularly within pharmaceutical, laboratory or commercial fit-out environments.

The Role

Managing the commercial aspects of construction, refurbishment and fit-out projects

Preparing cost reports, forecasts, valuations and financial updates

Managing subcontractor procurement, payments and accounts

Assessing variations and agreeing final accounts

Monitoring project expenditure, budgets and commercial risks

Supporting contract administration and cost control

Liaising with clients, subcontractors and project management teams

Requirements

Previous experience working as a Project Surveyor within the construction industry

Main contractor experience preferred

Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project cost management

Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations and variations

M&E experience would be a significant advantage

Pharmaceutical, laboratory, healthcare or commercial fit-out experience desirable

Able to work independently and manage commercial responsibilities

Strong communication, organisational and negotiation skills
