Project Quantity Surveyor – General Main Contractor (Mainly Residential and Education) – Syon Lane

Salary/Package: £60,000 – £75,000 + Package or £275 – £325 per day (Outside IR35) but flexible for the right person

O'Neill & Brennan are currently working with a well-established, privately owned main contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Syon Lane.

The business delivers a varied portfolio of education and residential refurbishment, extension and new build projects, typically ranging up to £5m in value, across West London and the surrounding areas. With multiple live projects running concurrently, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor who enjoys managing several schemes at once and taking full ownership of the commercial process from procurement through to final account.

You'll be joining a close-knit and supportive team where you'll have genuine autonomy, working directly with senior management while playing a key role in the continued growth of the business.

Role Overview

Projects: Education & Residential Refurbishments, Extensions & New Builds
Location: Syon Lane (Projects across West London & surrounding areas)
Salary: £60,000 – £75,000 + Package or £275 – £325 per day (Outside IR35)
Start: ASAP, although they can wait for the right person
Type: Permanent or Freelance
Responsibilities

Taking full commercial responsibility for a portfolio of refurbishment, extension and new build projects from procurement through to final account
Preparing subcontract enquiries, analysing tenders, negotiating terms and making recommendations for award
Managing subcontractor valuations, payments, variations and final accounts
Producing CVRs, cost reporting, forecasts and monthly commercial reports across multiple live projects
Working closely with operational teams, clients, consultants and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery
Identifying commercial risks and opportunities while maintaining robust cost control throughout each project's lifecycle
Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and the wider supply chain
Requirements

Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment
Previous experience delivering refurbishment, extension or new build projects
Comfortable managing the commercial delivery of multiple projects simultaneously
Experience managing projects through the full commercial lifecycle, from procurement to final account
Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation and communication skills
Able and willing to commute to Syon Lane and travel to projects across the surrounding area
