About the Opportunity

Westlakes Recruit is supporting a leading engineering and nuclear organisation with the appointment of a Project Quality Engineer.
This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused engineer to support the delivery of major nuclear projects, working across project, manufacturing, construction and supplier environments.
You will support the Project Quality Manager in maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and safety, while helping to embed a Right First Time culture across project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Support the development, implementation and maintenance of project quality processes.
Monitor manufacturing and installation activities to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
Support inspection, testing, NDT and dimensional checks, including associated quality records.
Ensure projects follow approved procedures, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
Identify quality issues proactively and support effective resolution and continuous improvement.
Monitor project quality KPIs and prepare performance reports.
Provide feedback to project teams and management on quality performance and concerns.
Support the implementation of Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Work closely with manufacturing, construction and quality teams.
Visit suppliers and project sites to assess quality and process performance.
Support the development of a strong nuclear safety and quality culture.

About You

We are looking for a quality-focused engineer with experience within nuclear, manufacturing, engineering, construction or another highly regulated environment.

Essential

Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Business or a related discipline.
Experience working within a manufacturing or construction environment.
Experience implementing quality programmes and processes.
Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 19443.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
Excellent communication and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Fluent written and spoken English.

Desirable

UK nuclear experience.
Knowledge of RCC-M requirements.
Nuclear new build experience.
Knowledge of modern welding procedures.
Experience with NDT and inspection activities.
French language skills.
