Project Planner – Engineering / Project Controls

Location: Swadlincote / Hybrid
Rate: £400–£450 per day
IR35: Outside IR35
Contract: 6–12 months
Working: Office, site and home working

We are recruiting for an experienced Project Planner to join an established engineering business in Swadlincote.

This is a hands-on project controls role where you will be closely involved in how engineering projects are actually delivered. You will work alongside Project Managers, site teams and commercial colleagues to ensure projects are properly planned, controlled and delivered on time.

You will be involved from the early stages of projects through design, procurement and installation, through to commissioning, testing and handover.

The Role

Developing and maintaining project programmes.
Managing sequencing, dependencies, key dates and access requirements.
Working closely with Project Managers and site teams.
Monitoring progress, labour, materials and resources.
Visiting sites to understand progress and challenge delivery where required.
Identifying risks, delays and missed activities.
Maintaining contractual evidence and project records.
Linking programme performance to commercial entitlement.
Supporting NEC3/NEC4 processes including early warnings and programme requirements.
Supporting projects through installation, shutdowns, commissioning and handover.

About You

We are looking for a Planner with experience within engineering, mechanical engineering, M&E, industrial or engineering contracting environments.

You will ideally have strong experience using Primavera P6 and a practical understanding of how engineering projects are delivered.

NEC3/NEC4 experience would be highly beneficial, particularly around early warnings, programme management, key dates and contractual evidence.

You will need to be comfortable working with both office and site teams and have the confidence to challenge when programmes or delivery are not going to plan.

The role offers a flexible working approach, with a mixture of office, site and home working, depending on project requirements.

Ganymede is committed to creating a diverse workforce and is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of age, disability, gender, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation
