The Role:

Responsible for ensuring project plans and schedules meet quality standards and adhere to deadlines, budget, and resource allocations.
Generate and distribute reports to keep project stakeholders informed with accurate and timely information.
Maintain project plans, ensuring alignment with project objectives, regular updates, and effective communication across all relevant parties.
Monitor project performance weekly and monthly to ensure data accuracy.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate the planning process.
Address and communicate project issues to relevant stakeholders.
Strategically plan resources, anticipate project needs, and resolve resource conflicts promptly.
Conduct regular project control reviews to maintain effective planning and control processes.
Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) and Critical Path Analysis (CPA) techniques for project analysis and reporting.
Employ Risk and Opportunity management, including Quantitative Schedule Risk Assessment (QSRA) techniques.
Introduce and implement best practices to enhance planning processes.
Assist in bid and proposal planning activities.Experience Required:

Preferably degree qualified or suitable relevant qualification (APM certification)
Full understanding and experience of the APM Body of Knowledge
Preferably a full member of the APM
Proven experience in project planning, preferably within the aerospace and defence industry
Understanding of Planning structures and principles (WBS, PBS - Product Breakdown Structure)
Advanced IT skills and proficient in the use of MSP and Primavera P6 planning tools is essential
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team and lead cross-functional collaborations
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards in aerospace and defence
Familiarity with project lifecycle management techniques
