Description:
Our Water contractor is seeking a Project Planner and Senior Planner on a permanent basis to support projects based out of Portsmouth.
The ideal candidate will have had experience being client facing and has experience with the practical implementation of NEC contracts in construction environments. Water industry experience is desirable and any background focusing on M&E projects would be an advantage. The role will report to a Head of Project Controls and Planning.
Hybrid working may be considered.
Our client works across Water, Power and Energy, with these roles going live due to an increasing workload during the Water AMP8 funding cycle. Projects generally range from £5k to £15m in value with our client taking the role of principal contractor and designer on various schemes supporting tier one contractors in a subcontractor/manufacturing capacity.
Responsibilities
Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders, improving processes and working practices.
Share knowledge and mentor less experienced colleagues.
Gather information from multiple documents and stakeholders to develop detailed, contractually compliant project schedules.
Set robust baselines to support change management and variance reporting.
Coordinate monthly updates from the project teams, including subcontractors/ suppliers.
Lead collaborative meetings with the client, subcontractors and project teams.
Support in the identification and mitigation of risks.
Produce detailed schedule narratives to support client review and acceptance of contractual programmes
Work with estimating and commercial teams to support tender submissions and project initiation.
Report project performance to key stakeholders.
If a working at Senior level, support junior members of the team/coach/support
Skills/qualifications/experience
Familiarity with NEC 3 and NEC 4 contracts
APM/PM qualifications an advantage
Construction Planning Experience, using Primavera P6 and MS Project
Excellent communication and comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team
Sound understanding of Project Management principles and the ability to drive best practice
Sound understanding of design and construction sequencing
Water/utilities industry experience
M&E engineering
APM project management qualification (or similar)
