Description:

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Planner to join our team on the PTNO / PTC1 National Grid Framework, supporting the delivery of a diverse portfolio of high-profile infrastructure schemes.

This role is ideal for someone who is keen to further develop their planning expertise, take on increasing responsibility, and play a key role in delivering complex and impactful projects.

Role Responsibilities

Support the delivery of a large-scale £80m infrastructure programme across three geographical sites.

Develop, maintain, and update detailed project programmes to reflect client requirements and programme changes.

Function as the day-to-day interface between planning and project delivery teams.

Collaborate closely with project managers and senior planners to ensure accurate programme alignment.

Lead and contribute to weekly planning and contract review meetings.

Produce and manage NEC3/NEC4 contract-compliant reports.

Monitor, capture, and report project progress, including earned value (EVM) tracking.

Develop and maintain site planning schedules and phasing plans.

Ensure accurate and timely communication of programme status to stakeholders.

Work under the guidance of senior planning professionals while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Proven experience in a planning role within infrastructure or energy sectors

Experience working on National Grid, HV electrical, or substation projects is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts and associated reporting requirements

Demonstrated ability in programme management, progress tracking, and reporting.

Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles

Proficiency in planning and reporting tools, including:

Primavera P6

Aphex

GIS tools (desirable)

Strong stakeholder management skills, with ability to liaise across multi-disciplinary teams.

Ability to work effectively in a multi-site, fast-paced delivery environment.

Comfortable working under supervision while demonstrating initiative and accountability.

Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (e.g., Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management)
