Job Title: Project Planner - Fabrication Industry

Permanent salary to £55k + package

Based in Newcastle upon Tyne

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Project Planner to join our clients fabrication team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules using Primavera P6 software. The role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure project timelines are met, resources are allocated efficiently, and potential issues are identified and addressed proactively. The Project Planner will play a key role in optimizing project delivery within the fabrication industry.

Key Responsibilities:

· Utilize Primavera P6 software to create and maintain project schedules, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project objectives.

· Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements and develop detailed schedules.

· Identify critical path activities and potential schedule risks, proposing mitigation strategies to maintain project timelines.

· Monitor project progress, update schedules as necessary, and communicate any deviations from the plan to relevant stakeholders.

· Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment required for fabrication projects.

· Conduct regular meetings with project teams to review schedule performance, discuss challenges, and make necessary adjustments to optimize project execution.

· Provide accurate and timely progress reports to management, highlighting key milestones, delays, and potential impacts on project delivery.

· Support project forecasting and resource planning activities by analyzing project schedules and resource allocation data.

· Continuously assess and improve scheduling processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery.

· Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in project scheduling and management to enhance professional knowledge and skills.

Qualifications and Skills:

· Proven experience working as a Project Planner or similar role in the UK fabrication industry.

· Proficiency in Primavera P6 software and advanced knowledge of project scheduling principles and techniques.

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify critical path activities, analyze schedule performance, and propose solutions to mitigate risks.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

· Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality in schedule development and maintenance.

· Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

· Familiarity with fabrication processes, materials, and equipment.

· Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
