SYR are looking for a Project Manager to join a leading and well known brand in yachting, based on the Hamble River
An exciting brand that represent no less than eight new build shipyards from small craft to superyachts, they employ a wide range of talented individuals across 16 location both here in the UK and abroad.
Due to an internal promotion, they are looking to onboard another Project Manager, a role that SYR have successfully helped them fill a number of times in the past years. A role that will see you work as the main point of contact to the customer, ensuring a seamless order and purchase process, you will be key to the organisation and be expected to fulfil the following duties:
- Joining the customer journey at point of order, receiving a handover from the sales team and building rapport from Day 1
- Understanding the customers intended uses for their new yacht and working with them through the specification and commissioning process to ensure their new purchase it fit for the intented need and that they order and retrofit the required equipment to do so
- Working with the supplying shipyard to understand order lead times, checking on progress updates and ensuring any custom order requirements are completed prior to delivery
- Ensuring that on vessel arrival that the commissioning team are fully briefed on customer-order items and that the vessel is completed and ready for delivery on the agreed dates
- Carrying out final snagging/check-over before handover
- Joining the client for initial sea trial and talking them through their new yacht
A thoroughly enoyable and diverse role, we seek the following skills from our next project manager:
- A solid understanding of yacht manufacturing either through time on the shop floor or as a captain of yachts under refit or build
- Excellent people skills, demonstrating a capability to manage all stakeholders in a timely manner and meet each parties needs
- Strong organisation and administrative skills, ensuring timely delivery and that those involved in vessel preparation receive correct instructions
- Ideally a yachting qualification such as Day Skipper or Yachtmaster and an ability to handle vessels either at sea or in the marina
