Southend-on-Sea, Essex

£70,000 - £80,000 + Car Allowance + Package

360 Recruitment are working in partnership with a respected main contractor to recruit an experienced Project Manager for a significant new-build care home development in Southend.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing contractor with a strong pipeline of work across the healthcare, residential and care sectors.

The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the delivery of a £15m traditional build care home development, managing the project from demolition through to handover. You will lead a dedicated site team, including an experienced Site Manager, whilst ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

The Project

The scheme comprises the demolition of an existing building and the construction of a new 77-bed, three-storey care home, providing residential, nursing and dementia care facilities, together with associated external works and landscaping.

Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a £15m construction project.
Managing and supporting the Site Manager and wider site delivery team.
Developing, monitoring and updating construction programmes.
Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and client representatives.
Ensuring the project is delivered safely and in line with company standards.
Chairing site progress meetings and reporting to senior management.
Managing quality control throughout all phases of construction.
Monitoring performance against programme, budget and project milestones.
Identifying and mitigating project risks.
Driving the project through to successful completion and handover.

Requirements

Proven experience working as a Project Manager for a UK main contractor.
Demonstrable experience delivering projects valued between £10m and £20m+.
Strong traditional build experience is essential.
Previous experience delivering care homes, healthcare, residential, education or commercial projects.
Experience managing Site Managers and site-based delivery teams.
Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, programming and subcontractor management.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
