Reporting to the Operations Director, the Project Manager oversees the planning, installation, maintenance, and repair of heating systems within a designated project or facility.

This role involves managing a team of technicians, coordinating with contractors, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure efficient and reliable operation of heating systems. The Mechanical Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and project specifications while delivering high-quality services to clients.

You will oversee estimating the project, coordinating the relevant teams, producing contract orders and undertaking regular site visits to ensure standards and requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

· Plan, design, and oversee the installation of commercial heating systems, including boilers, heat pumps, AHU’s and radiant heating systems.

· Conduct assessments and audits to evaluate the performance and condition of existing heating equipment and systems.

· Lead and manage mechanical projects from initiation through completion, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.

· Collaborate with engineering teams, contractors, and vendors to develop project plans, specifications, and budgets.

· Monitor project progress, identify risks and challenges, and implement strategies to mitigate issues and ensure successful project outcomes.

· Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with building codes, permits, and safety regulations.

· Supervise and mentor a team of heating technicians and contractors, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and productivity.

· Foster a culture of safety, quality, and excellence within the team, emphasising adherence to protocols, standards, and best practices.

· Promote collaboration, communication, and teamwork among team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and vendors, serving as the primary point of contact for heating-related projects and services.

· Respond promptly to client inquiries, concerns, and requests, addressing issues effectively and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.

· Provide regular updates and reports to clients and stakeholders on project status, progress, and milestones.

The ideal candidate will possess:

· Proven experience (5+ years) in commercial heating system design, installation, maintenance, and project management.

· Comprehensive knowledge of commercial heating systems, equipment, controls, and components.

· Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, building codes, and safety regulations.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

· A good understanding of HVAC systems.

· Experience with working on commercial HVAC projects.

· Proficiency in project management tools and software.

· An understanding of NEC and JCT contracts.

· Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
