Cumming Management Group, a Cost and Project Management Consultancy within the construction industry, provides a wide range of services to clients spanning several different sectors.
Cumming Management Group are seeking to recruit a Project Manager (3+ years’ experience) in South London.
The candidate will be working on a portfolio of works from a key international client. Managing and leading consultant teams during the planning, pre-construction and construction phases of projects of varying scales and levels of complexity. This includes raising appointments for consultants, preparing project program and risk register and reporting and tracking during all project phases.
The role of Project Manager includes the following responsibilities:
- Produce project briefs and assist in establishing development strategic goals.
- Produce accurate project programmes.
- Manage a team of internal and /or external consultants and suppliers.
- Attend and chair all design team and site progress meetings.
- Become the key contact for all internal / external parties on the project.
- Understand key client stakeholders, their drives and priorities.
- Provide design management services to the client, including but not limited to:
* Review consultant design / project documentation
* Identify discrepancies and opportunities to improve design
* Encourage design innovation, sustainability and creativity
* Have a an understanding of building regulations
- Monitor delivery of the team’s roles, responsibilities and project deliverables.
- Monitor and challenge the performance of the project team.
- Assist in producing scopes for external consultants and compiling formal appointments.
- Support procurement and tender process and compilation of contractual arrangements for contractors.
- Prepare and coordinate projects for planning submission.
- Effectively manage costs through the application of formal financial controls and regular reporting.
- Ensure projects meet or exceed defined quality standards.
- Ensure project compliance with the requirements of legislation and/or external authorities.
- Ensure design approvals and financial sanctions are obtained at appropriate stages with relevant client stakeholders.
- Produce project progress reports.
- Ensure effective management of project documentation for future retrieval.
- Establish project handover process, in alignment with client quality standards.
- Manage the snagging process and internal / external resources.
- Produce snagging documents necessary for live tracking.
- Manage change and resolve potential conflict.
- Execute a communication plan for all projects.
- Produce a comprehensive risk register for all projects.
- Assist with the minimisation of risks to health and safety on all projects.

The ability to –
- Communicate with all stakeholders, including key areas of the client’s business.
- Co-ordinate and motivate multiple teams on multiple projects
- Make good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgement
- Plan, organise and prioritise responsibilities in order to consistently meet deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree educated preferably, with a goal for professional accreditation.
- 3+ years project management experience.
- Experience working on projects at all stages.
- Experience of suggesting ways of working which will improve efficiency across the team.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project and other project management software.
