Location: Hybrid – Requirement to travel across the UK to support contracts

Role Overview:
 
The Project Manager role will take full responsibility for delivery of the construction element of the assigned portfolio of projects across the UK. The role will interact closely with the Head of Delivery or Contract Manager (who directly report) and wider teams in the delivery business unit. In addition, the job holder will actively participate in specific project concept, development, software, O&M activity and be responsible for ensuring bid/contract Governance compliance. The role will require commercial and contractual competence to manage both upstream and downstream elements of any contract.  The role is at the forefront of designing and delivering an expansion strategy to grow the team as the business expands across the UK.
 
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee, manage, and deliver projects focusing on safety, customer satisfaction, communication, commercial activity, program management, reporting, and optimization.
Ensure development compliance with client requirements and readiness for bids.
Handle contract letting, negotiation, and contractor selection.
Manage construction contract agreements and signings.
Secure client approval of detailed designs and pre-mobilization CDM compliance.
Oversee CDM contractor mobilization and manage third-party interactions.
Ensure legal support for offsite activities aligns with timelines.
Deliver governance and reporting during construction, including client updates.
Chair and document project progress meetings, manage snagging register and Technical Query process.
Oversee compensation events, activity schedule compliance, and milestone payments.
Prepare and award estimates, quotes, bids, and tenders for non-complex activities.
Audit CDM compliance, ensure testing and commissioning meet standards, and manage training activities.
Complete safety walk rounds, project handovers, initiate warranty periods, and O&M activities.
Ensure project closeout governance is completed.  
Essential Training or Qualifications:

Project management qualification
Relevant technical qualification
Previous strong proven experience in project management capacity ideally gained within utilities, electrical services DNO or construction
Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and MS Project
Demonstrate the ability to balance priorities among competing needs whilst providing the highest level of value to the company
Demonstrate an understanding of the ecosystem approach to EV adoption on a large scale
Demonstrate programme management experience with a delivery business unit
Experience of supply chain management
Ability to perform a key role within a governance framework
Commercially aware with a strong proven background in infrastructure project delivery and associated contracts
Ability to collaborate ensuring compliance to health, safety, and environmental legislation. Able to minimise risk through developing and endorsing safe operating processes
Proven track record of delivering targets whilst maintaining outstanding customer relations/ services
APM professional preferred but not essential.
