Scope - overview of the job, its purpose/objective and scope:

The primary responsibility of the EV / ICP Project Engineer is to build, manage and continually improve the delivery process and function for our EV division, whilst working across both EV and ICP resources as required. A Key role for the EV / ICP Project Engineer is to manage the full end to end provision of contract mobilisation, resource allocation, civils, electrical and customer handover.

The role holder has a responsibility to ensure that all site activities within the business operate to the highest level of safety ensuring efficiency of the works.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities - specific responsibilities/Accountabilities/Outcomes:

Delivery:

Delivery of improved working practices specific to EV / ICP, delivering continual improvement of delivery and margin

Lead regular client delivery reviews throughout delivery and ongoing service management periods

Programming and scheduling of works into the delivery process

The compiling of health and safety packs

Ensuring materials and equipment are ordered in a timely manner, ensuring that close liaison with the Lead EV Designer to ensure accuracy of materials ordered.

Provision of as built drawings

Liaison with Project Managers on project deliverables, risks and issues

Client Management:

Relationship management of key EV Charging OEM product and delivery stakeholders

To form and nurture peered relationships with all EV clients throughout the design and delivery process ensuring our EV division are regarded as key delivery partner throughout ensuring future growth potential is well placed to exploit as their EV requirements expand over time

Work with and support joint client engagements between our chosen technology partners and clients

Liaison with customers throughout the lifecycle

Supplier Management:

The identification and instruction of sub contractors, request quotations etc

 Providing oversight to existing Site Delivery Managers ensure that Sub Contractors deliver to SLA’s

Management of Sub Contractors issues and risks, etc to ensure smooth project deliverables

Systems:

Measure project performance using our EV division tools and processes.

Perform risk management to minimise project impact.

To develop and Implement new processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs in conjunction with our PMO.

Ensure there is a continuous improvement mindset through regularly challenging operating practices and behaviours. To inspire teams to be innovative and push the boundaries

People:

Use and continually develop leadership skills

Motivate team and individuals to achieve personal excellence.

Management and provision of key resources from within our EV division and from across our delivery resources across our business.

Responsible for establishing and maintaining the alignment with the deployment teams to shareholder outcomes. To collaborate with the Shareholders and internal stakeholders to ensure the agreed outcomes are maximised.

Monitoring staff workload to ensure maximum productivity

Finance/budget:

Ordering of plant and materials for site

 Deliver contract profit levels at or better than signed off at contract award

 Always seek ways to improve financial performance

Support all business planning functions and sales forecasting

Data:

Observe and comply with all GDPR obligations

Ensure that all business information is stored in a timely and responsible manner

Use Sitetracker as the defacto core system for all delivery activity, ensuring that information is available to all those functions involved in the delivery of EV projects

Governance and Compliance:

Arrangement of prestart meetings and ensuring all key team and sub contractors attend and meeting is fully minuted

Delivery of Key Performance Indicators and Dashboards?

Compliance of the CDM regulations

Management of formal audits of sites for Quality, H&S, CDM compliance following build completion as required

Ensuring audit findings are followed up and reported back to QUENSH

To undertake any other duties which fall within the job holder’s capabilities aligned to normal duties that management may reasonably request and to continually seek ways to improve the way in which your function operates within the business.

Person specification - Essential/Desirable Qualifications/Experience/Skills/Attributes:

Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience

Essential

Experience in a delivery capacity in EV or related sectors

Good IT Skills (Excel, Word, Access etc)

Experience and knowledge of the EV Industry

Experience in a similar construction role

Experience of managing sub-contractors

Supplier Relationship Management Skills

CDM experience

Experience of leading and managing teams of retained resource and key partners to deliver large and highly complex programmes and solutions to agreed time, cost and quality.

A proven track record of bringing industry best practice into an organisation and using this to drive continuous improvement.

Experience of managing remotely located, cross-functional teams.

Full Valid Driving license, (maximum of 3 points)

Desirable

Experience setting up a delivery function elsewhere by designing and implementing the functional capability

Health and Safety accreditation i.e. IOSH, CDM

CSCS Certification

NRSWA supervisor accreditation

Vendor supplier management experience

Skills/Abilities

Highly organised and methodical in approach

High level of commercial acumen

Ability to juggle a number of conflicting priorities whilst maintaining attention to detail

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Flexible, able to manage shifting priorities.

Team player with evidence of collaborative skills (within department and business and externally)

Role model; always acts with integrity, impartiality and applies sound judgement, acting as a positive ambassador for the company brand

Ability to constructively challenge colleagues at all levels.

Presentation skills and [Microsoft office] package competency

Full command of the English language.
